Williams B-day

We didn't do much for Williams birthday this year because we were all sick. Well, we were mostly over it, but William was still throwing up if he ate anything besides bread and bananas. So....a few days after the fact we pulled out the sand and water table we got for him (and the girls) and put it together. We were hoping it would help him to get out his obsession with dumping everything out of containers in a controlled environment. I'll let you know when that actually happens.  Thank you dear boy for the half a bottle of honey dumped all over the living room and playroom floor this morning.  I love you William.  I hope you enjoy this, especially since you had a cruddy b-day.

....aaaand there's the William I'm used to, make a big mess and then disappear.

Garden Update

Our peas are getting so big, and our squash and zucchini plants are starting to sprout! (oh yes, we planted a few more things a little over a week ago) Unfortunately the green onions and herbs were trampled upon by little 2 yr old and 4 yr old feet, and I don't think they are going to make it. Boo. I just realized I don't have any pics of our newest sprouts but you can just try to picture them in your head cause I'm doing this post anyways. So here's an updated pic of our peas as well as some of us planting the other stuff as well!

P.S. I do help out, I just stop occasionally to document life for posterity every now and then. I'm not Josh's slave driver, it just looks like that.

Oh, and we have pretty roses growing on the side of our house! ♥

Watering the grass and little cheeks

The kids decided to play in the sprinkler the other day, but after putting them in their swimsuits i guess it wasn't as much fun. Jo still had a blast though, and the other two warmed up to it after a bit.

You want me to run through what?!
But it's so cold mommy!
Maybe it will be warmer if I run through it holding the side of my swimsuit...
hmmm.... not so bad after all.

Hats

All of our kids love hats, I would guess because Daddy always wears them.  The other day Josh took the kids down the road to family dollar only to discover that it was closing so most of the stuff was on clearance. They found a few hats and they decided to bring them home. William got a black and whit fedora, Josh a tan one, and Jo got a pink and yellow cowgirl hat. They all LOVE them and have worn them every day. So here's a few pics of them enjoying hats.

Zoo Day!

Josh had memorial Day off for school and work, so we took advantage of that and went to the zoo! The kids had a blast and wore themselves out completely.  There was a small area where the kids could play some bongos, tambourines, and maraccas, which Jo played at for a while. We then got to see an elephant show with their baby elephant. William loved it even though he is pretty scared of them. Before going home we had lunch and played on the playground, where Savannah had a blast.

Springtime!

Springtime is in the air! The flowers are blooming, the weather is A-Maz-Ing! The kids have been having SO much fun playing outside everyday, which gives me a chance to get the house clean and keep it almost there. (they do come in occasionally and when they do they are each a small tornado)  I have been able to get more done the past few months during the day then I have the past few years! However, I think my favorite thing this past month has been to watch everything come to life. Growing up in Houston most of the plants stay alive all year round, heck we've even had hibiscus grow in December! Going up to North Texas really taught me to appreciate the greenness while it lasted and I loved watching everything turn green again in the springtime. At least I thought I appreciated it, even there you still had some stuff still alive. Coming up here in the middle of winter from south east Tx it was shocking just how dead everything was-or looked. I really thought that most of the plants were far beyond saving, some even up to the past few days. It's so exciting to go out and see which plants are starting to come to life each week! Needless to say, me being the camera crazy take twenty bazzillion pictures of everything person that I am I have been going a little crazy with all the springtime growth. So here are a few of my favorite plant pictures. Thanks again Josh for my amazing camera!
Cherry Blossoms
Cherry tree with berries

Our peas are sprouting!

This plant smells divine, and it has both white  AND yellow flowers! How cool is that!

Our neighbors rose bush comes into our yard a little bit. They are so beautiful ! ♥

Rose...bud.

Haw berry blooms.

My lovely daffodils....before William plucked them of their stems.

We haven't figured out what this one is yet. It currently has little green  balls all over it and Jo calls it  "Our pea tree" makes me think of The Land Before Time. "Mamma, Mamma, I a flyer!"

Lilacs ♥

Not sure

small spreading bushy thing.

*sigh*  :)
Okay so I need to stop before I decide to live here permanently. Nothing like a super dead winter to help you appreciate all the lovely life in the springtime.

Primary Chorister

Jo decided a while ago that when she grows up she wants to be a school teacher, the other day she decided to add primary chorister to that. Here is an example of her favorite thing to do the past few day.

William is being a good little pupil…..for the most part.

Bikes

Jo has grown out of her tricycle that one of our neighbors in Vidor gave us, so we finally caved and got her a big girl bike! She is so excited about it. Her only problem is that she's learned it tips over more easily than a tricycle and gets a little nervous sometimes. With Jo having big girl bike William has kind of taken over her tricycle even though he's not quite big enough, but Jo is nice and helps him out.

Gardening

We're trying out a garden this year, since we actually have a yard to do one in. The kids have loved getting it ready to plant the seeds.
While digging in the dirt William found a footlong earthworm, he was so insanely excited!

Long time coming

Alright, I really am going to try to do better about doing more blog posts. Here are a few pictures from the past few days. All I have to say is I love my kids, and I love springtime in Utah!
 First time making mud pies.
 Dandelions for mommy!

 Olives. Yum!
