"I love you Mommy....no wait, Daddy!"

Last night Josalyn decided that she only loved daddy, and no matter how hard we tried to get her to say "I love Mommy" she would only say " I love Daddy" We decided to get a video of it and at the end of the video she finally gave in.

Veggie Tales Silly Songs by Jo

Jo loves Veggie Tales, and likes to go around singing bits of one or two songs, but this past weekend she has really gotten into it. Here is a video of her singing little bits of a few of them. I believe t starts with their theme song (for those of you who know the songs) then "The Belly Button Song", followed by "Stand Up", and I believe it ends with The "Biscuit of Zazzamarandabo". And of course as soon as she decided the video should be over she wanted to watch it, that's what she is wanting to see right at the very end.

My Curly Cue Sue!

So, Jo has super curly hair, but she loves to play with my curlers and is always wanting me to put them in her hair. It's kinda funny, because it actually makes her hair more straight after wearing them for only a minute. Normally she only lets me put one or two in and then pulls them out fairly quick, but this particular day we had ALL her hair in curlers and she kept them in for quite a while. She would get upset at the mere thought of taking them out.

Sister Smith

We have a new sister in our ward, her name is sister smith! Jo absolutely loves both of them, the only problem is they aren't allowed to hold kids which makes jo really sad. They were talking with us after dinner in the living room and she kept going and plopping down on their laps, and we'd have to pry her off (which was not easy) and continually explain to her that she couldn't sit on their laps. It made them really sad too. They were saying that is the hardest mission rule to keep. Anywho, we got a few pics with Jo wearing sis. smith's name tag, this one was the best one we got. Normally she is so photogenic, but I couldn't get a single one without her pulling a weird face. She was really tired that day.

At the Park

Ok, so it's at the elementary school, but to the kids it was a park. Everybody loved the climbing dome, and there are a few pics of kids on it in here. Let me just say that it's much easier to climb this thing without carrying a two year old in your arms. Being young and more limber helps too.
Seth playing with Lucy, it's just fun to get pictures of him. : )

And the boys doing the monkey bars. Alex was very determined to do all of them on his own. *sigh* They grow up so fast.

Fun at the Joneses

Alot of the Jones family got together a couple weekends ago to say goodbye to Calli. It was alot of fun, and really good to see family. We have definitely enjoyed Seth and Brette being in Texas and getting to see them more frequently. Jo is getting more familiar with them and has really started liking Brette quite a bit. So, here is a picture of Brette and Riah (who also really likes Brette!)
Of course we had to get a picture of the two girls together.
And since I am doing the blog, of course i have to show off my adorable pumpkin all covered in Pooh. She LOVES this jacket. She's very passionate about stuff, she either loves something soooooooo much or she won't have anything to do with it.
And here is Riah feeding Lucy acorns. Poor thing, Seth had just been saying how she didn't like them but Riah was giving them to her so she went ahead and ate them. You could tell she didn't enjoy it though.
And one more of a larger group. Grand kids playing with Seth's face and what-not. He is such a good sport. I love my brothers!

For those of you who don't know this, Jo LOVES smelling things, especially candles. A couple of weeks ago we met up with Josh's parents at a Cracker Barrel out in Baytown. Jo was wandering around the store part and found a penguin toy that danced and decided to carry it around with her. Shortly after that we started smelling the candles (which isn't as good of a thing to do when you are pregnant, let me tell you) anywho, so she found an area where they had non-breakable little candles so that she could smell them on her own (conveniently located near the floor so she could easily get to them) Well, being the little mommy that she is, she decided to help the penguin smell them like I had just been doing with her and the fragile candles. It was so cute I had to get a video of it. So, without further ado, the video:

She has even more hair!

Josalyn's hair is actually long enough to do stuff with, so here are a few pics with her hair up. In case you can't tell I am really excited about this. Oh, and there is a random picture of her hair on a day that it was super curly. Sorry, the only good ones I have of that, she is in the tub.

Kittens!

We recently had three additions to our apartment complex cat population. We were kind of hoping the cute little calico would stick around, but it didn't. Two quickly ran off and the third we got to play with for a couple weeks before it too disappeared. To say that Jo loved them would be an extreme understatement. Here is a picture of her right after I set it on her lap. In case you can't tell, that is her "I am insanely excited" face.
I feel a little bad the kittens ran off, mostly due to the fact that I think it was because of my daughter. She tried to be very careful, but thy are pretty big to her so it was a little awkward for her to hold them. We will, in a few months, have a few more to play with (at least that is usually how it goes, so Jo can have that to look forward to.

Most of the Jones' got together in August for a weekend, it was a lot of fun. Seth and Brette brought their dog, Lucy, and showed the little kids how they could get her to do tricks for treats. Calli got the bright idea of doing the same thing with the little tots and teddy grahams. This shows just Moriah, but all of them were really funny.

kisses

this was just cute, so
I had to put it up. I put a bow in Jo's hair and we went into the bathroom so she could see in the mirror. She climbed on the cabinet and started talking to herself and playing. These are two of many shots. Needless to say I had to scrub the mirror afterwards.

Outside fun, and other craziness

Sorry guys, this one is a little long. : )

Jo saw Josh doing pull ups on the stairs one day, and decided she was going to join him and do the same thing. She didn't quite make it, but in the process discovered she could hang on and swing. The video of her swinging is at the bottom of the blog, but here are a few still images of her in action.

Josh and Jo doing synchronized swinging

That really doesn't look comfortable

We go biking pretty much every day as of late, sometimes twice a day. We go at least midday because we discovered it is an easy way to get Jo to sleep for her nap. (as seen in the first picture- and yes I do realize it will be hard later on when we can't just hop on a bike and go for a ride like in the winter, but we don't do it everyday just most of the time) the elementary has a toddler/pre-k age group play ground in one part so we sometimes go over there to play. they have some fun toys. One of Jo's favorites is a teeter-totter with four seats that work individually
so you don't need anyone else to do it. Jo loves to get on and bounce by herself or with us.

Jo decided on this ride home that she didn't want to wear her hat any more, so Josh decided he would instead. We got a few weird looks from people but Josh thought it was great. I just think it's sad he was able to get it on his head, since it's a toddler hat.

Towering over the earth. It's Ginormica as a toddler!

Bouncing on the bouncer.

Jo loves to play in the water, whether it be washing her hands, getting a bath, or swimming
in a pool. The next few pictures are of her swimming in her kiddie pool, and having a great time. She is, of course a big ham when the camera comes out so you get to see some of that too.

This pic is from one morning when she woke up and immediately wanted to read a book, as usual, and I told her she needed to get dressed first so she went and put her swimsuit on all by herself, and then proceeded to read her book. : )

Giving me "the look"

Making a funny face.

Kicking back in her pool

Jo discovered about a month ago that she could climb ALL the way onto the top of her shelf thing, and likes to do so frequently. We used to put things up there we didn't necessarily want her to get (like her plug) so she likes to go searching for things she thinks are there.

Here she is sitting on top relaxing.
Here is her swinging video!

Playing dress up

Josalyn loves to dress herself , and it usually has very
interesting out comes. It keeps life interesting and fun
though, so I can't complain about having a boring life.

Here she is with her potty bowl on he head.
At this point it hadn't been used so it's not
as gross as you might think.

Jo hugging the harp.

I put a headband with a bow on her head and she went and
laid down and wanted me to take her picture. It's kinda funny,
cause with the lighting from the window it looks sort of like a glamour shot.

trying on her boots, they are still a little big,
but she has successfully done her irish jig
dance in them a few times. I think we have
a video of that too.

Wearing her "sock puppies" blanket and
the shade thing from her doll stroller.

Her hair is long enough now that as long as
we get it in the right spot we can put a bow in her hair!

It's still easier sometimes to just use the headbands.
